We are leaving Tokyo! Yap that’s so soon, our next destination was Hakone and we will be staying there for a night!
Hakone is part of the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, less than 100 kilometers from Tokyo. Famous for hot springs, outdoor activities, natural beauty and the view of nearby Mt. Fuji.
We booked a free and easy package from Sunrise Tours. Cost us ¥23,800 ($373.87), which includes bullet trains to and from Hakone and Tokyo and a night stay at The Prince Hakone. We can experience bullet trains for the first time!
Anyway, we are quite sure we will not revisit this place if we go Japan for travelling, because it’s quite a boring place as in nothing much there and hard to travel around if you do not have your own car. Activities and bus service ended early and this caused quite a few problems for us and further more, it seems like nothing went smooth for us on day 4! I will share more on it on later part of this post together with the photos.
Nevertheless, we did enjoyed ourselves. The mountainous place is wonderful, esp when we just travel there from the city. And being one that never experience snow before, it’s really so nice to be able to see snow on the floor. I even purposely go step on them just to feel how it is like to be walking on snow. And along the way to our hotel, we saw some houses with white snow roof too, it is so damm nice but unfortunately didn’t take any photos. But I have some videos
Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 and Part 4…
Off to the world of Disney on Day 3…
We were still pondering in the morning whether to visit DisneyLand or DisneySea, and we can only choose one due to the time constraint and it was really a hard decision… We ended up choosing DisneySea because it’s the one and only in the world whilst for DisneyLand we can still visit in other countries.
However due to the fact that we are neither a theme park person, nor a Disney fan… we did not enjoy ourselves that much and we actually left quite early around 5pm… supposed to stay for the night event cos’ heard it is really good but since we already finished touring the place and prefer to spend our time at shopping else where instead of waiting, we just decided to leave. I think Terence really regretted going there. Haha… for me after seeing the photos taken,I kinda think it is still worth it lah. Well, price for 2 tickets was ¥11,300 ($175.60)!
Remember I said we were too exhausted on day 1? Hmmmm, so we were both trying to recover our sleep and I dunno what time we wake up, but by the time we step out of the hotel room… it was already 1pm. I still remember we were happily viewing Can Can and Cue Cue on webcam and chatting with friends in the morning via facebook… heh, really love this kind of holiday with no rushing at all…
Anyway, Day 2 is mainly for shopping and shopping in Japan wasn’t shiok at all because everything is too expensive and we didn’t really have much budget for shopping…
Our first stop was Harajuku and we only reached there at 2pm lor!
This is a place where the streets are lined by many trendy shops and fashion boutiques and we came here on a Sunday because we read that there will be alot of cosplayer gathering here on a Sunday but we didn’t see alot of them lei. Hmmm was it because we are too late?
Then we were supposed to go to this Meiji Shrine which supposedly is just nearby but end up never go too cos’ we were feeling too cold, not sure how to go and it is just a shirine…so we decided not to go…
The flight was 6.5 hours and we reached Tokyo @ 7.30am, Japan’s timing which is just 1 hour ahead of Singapore’s. Anyway, for the rest of my Japan’s post, timing will be recorded in Japan’s timing…
Well, I think the only complain i have throughout this entire Japan trip is the flight to Tokyo; the famous SQ A380 flight which i swear I will not ever want to take anymore. When they launched this stupid big plane, they hit the headlines and everybody knows about it. So when i have this chance to take this plane, I was really looking forward to it but very disappointed. The seats are so small, like just nice for my buttock nia. Leg space are the worst, it is so terribly small and just after 2 hours, my leg cramp but i couldn’t stretch my leg. Why didn’t i have this problem with Jetstar or Tiger Airways lei?
After taking that plane, i feel pain at my knee cap all the time and I couldn’t sit or cross my legs for long. At times, i feel so uncomfortable with it till i just stand till the pain is over. It is only recently that i feel the pain has gradually reduced but it’s still there even though it’s already more than a month since i took that plane.
